About Vanessa and the journey to Beautifully Conscious

Hey! My name is Vanessa Kinsley, founder of Beautifully Conscious and creator of SYNC+THRIVE. I'm a full time mom of 3 beautiful children, a wife, licensed cosmetologist, certified holistic health coach and yoga instructor.

Beautifully Conscious is a brand that manifested several years ago, that has evolved with me over the last 14 years as my seasons of life shifted and evolved as well.  My own life’s journey has driven me to share and support other women to live a more natural and conscious lifestyle for themselves and their families.

Here is a little back story...

In 2007, at the age of 19, I graduated cosmetology school and immediately started working full time as a hairstylist back home in South Florida while attending college at Florida Atlantic University.

Like many teens in the late 90's early 00's, birth control was administered to young women like it was the next best thing since sliced bread. And I was one of those teens. 

Well, flash forward to my early 20’s, after being on birth control for many consecutive years, I had breakthrough bleeding and decided I needed to take a break.

Well, immediately coming off "the Nuva Ring" (IFYKYK), I began struggling with my menstrual cycle. I had irregular periods for 4 months, until they completely stopped all together. I began seeing health professionals to seek support and answers as to why my menstrual cycle wasn't coming. I was a relatively healthy, young woman that was moderately active. Some medical experts said give it more time, some said "it happens like that for some women" and some just wanted to prescribe me medication. 

As more time went on, and still no cycle to occur, I was unsure if I was going to be able to have children of my own in the future. When I needed more answers than I was receiving by professionals, it inspired me to embark on a journey toward natural living, conscious self-care and balancing a healthy life in a modern world. I got blood work done, and it turned out my progesterone was so low, that my hormone levels were reading like a women in perimenopause, except I was 24!!

I immersed myself in many alternative healing methods including acupuncture, yoga, Qi gong, tai chi, women's health books and many different dietary changes. I went 2 and 1/2 years straight without a menstrual cycle, then it eventually returned with many hormonal fluctuations. I was like a hormonal teenager again for almost a year until things started to balance and become more regular.

It took a few years to heal from my ailments and create a balanced  lifestyle that worked for me. As my body started to return to a healthy state, my knowledge and passion grew. I studied many other avenues after graduating FAU with a double BA in Management and Marketing. I  became a certified holistic health coach,  juice bar manager, registered yoga teacher and Level 1 Reiki Practitioner.

Later on at 27, I got married and 8 months later we were pregnant with our first baby. We continued to have two more healthy and beautiful children, completing our family of five. We were so blessed to have three pregnancies that were healthy and followed three completely natural and beautiful births.

After my third baby, in 2020, I realized that my self-care had taken a back seat and decided that needed to change... in come my handmade skincare line! I continued to passionately guide others toward living healthier lifestyles and educating them about the products we use for our skin and home care routines. Providing the knowledge and tools for self care is something that I've grown passionately about since becoming a mother. I believe it is an important part of our essence that needs nurturing to be  fully present for those around us. 

Beauty and wellness should be simple and healthy for ourselves and the environment, which is my intention with each and every product I create and promote. I stay true to my mission with transparency of our natural ingredients that nourish and our conscious packaging with minimal waste. 

My family and I now reside in the Central Florida area where we've established ourselves and grow some roots.
